Workplan

LEEMONS is designed around 6 Work Packages that are closely interrelated to ensure the successful implementation of the project activities.

Implementation phases

Phase 1: Technology validation on Solar cells (Months 1–18)

Objective: Develop and validate the electron multiplication phenomenon as a viable solution to overcome thermalisation losses in silicon photovoltaics (Si-PVs)

Phase 2: Optimization & Industrial Feasibility (Months 18–36)

Objective: Refine the electron multiplication process and optimize integrated PV cell prototypes to achieve higher efficiency gains while ensuring scalability for mass production.

WP 1 : Project Management

WP1 aim is to ensure a correct, smooth project evolution towards the achievements of its scientific and technical objectives.

  • Coordinating the research activities among the partners and supervising the project
  • Monitoring the quality and timing of the project results
  • Managing the administrative and financial tasks

WP 2: Hard Implantation Masking Fabrication & Testing

WP2 aims to provide a detailed understanding of discontinuous ion implantation through hard masks.

  • Designing and fabricating silicon masks and stencil printing masks
  • Performing test campaigns with the DRIE (Deep Reactive Ion Etching) masks and the stencil printing masks
  • Performing discontinuous implantation testing on textured wafers

WP 3: N-type cell integration/passivation campaigns

WP3 aims to integrate the LEEMONS technology to the n-type technology cells.

  • Designing and test an efficient metallization process
  • Developing an effective screening system that will reduce the impact of the LEEMONS nanolayer on the carrier lifetime
  • Performing cell integration tests

WP 4: N-type cell optimization campaigns

WP4 aims to obtain high performance prototype cells.

  • Carrying out mini-cell test campaigns for optimization and increased cell performance
  • Carrying out lifecycle tests and analyses to measure the effect of LEEMONS technology of solar cell lifecycle.

WP 5: IBC-HJT cells passivation & optimization campaigns

WP 6: Communication, dissemination and exploitation

  • Increasing the visibility of the LEEMONS project and sharing its results among all of its target audiences
  • Identifying the Key Exploitable Results of the project and the relevant strategy for a successful exploitation
  • Developing a roadmap towards higher maturity level of the LEEMONS technology
