Welcome CSEM: Boosting LEEMONS with Heterojunction Expertise

đŸ€ CSEM Joins LEEMONS Consortium to Drive PV Innovation

We’re excited to announce that CSEM (Centre Suisse d’Électronique et de Microtechnique) has officially joined the LEEMONS project consortium—bringing world-class expertise in heterojunction solar cell (HJT) technology to the team.

Based in NeuchĂątel, Switzerland, CSEM is renowned for its groundbreaking work in high-efficiency photovoltaic devices and process development. Their addition significantly strengthens LEEMONS’ ability to integrate next-gen materials into industrial-compatible solar cell architectures.

⚡ What CSEM Brings to the Table

CSEM’s role in the project will focus on supporting the design, fabrication, and testing of LEEMONS prototypes built around heterojunction technology. This complements the project’s ambition to demonstrate low-energy electron multiplication in HJT solar platforms.

Key areas of contribution include:

  • Advanced heterojunction cell design and simulation
  • Passivation expertise to help LEEM buried amorphous layers Integration
  • Validation of electrical performance and carrier multiplication effects
  • Guidance on scalability and industrial adoption of novel PV architectures

CSEM’s long-standing commitment to innovation, combined with their pilot line capabilities, makes them a perfect fit for the LEEMONS mission: pushing photovoltaic efficiency beyond its current limits—while ensuring manufacturing feasibility.
